2D Fluidics develops research-grade thin film
chemicals processing technology and produces
commercial-grade world class graphene and carbon
nanomaterials for research and industrial applications.

The 2D Fluidics Vortex Fluidic Technology emerged from research efforts focused on the application of thin film microfluidics and ultimately resulted in the ability to control the shear forces in rotating reaction chambers that give rise to the nanomaterials of interest.

2D Fluidics uses this technology to produce high-quality, high-purity, best-in-class graphene, graphene oxide, carbon nanotubes, and a range of other carbon nanomaterials.

2D Fluidics’ Vortex Fluidic Technology facilitates a growing number of processing capabilities, from small molecule synthesis through to processing advanced materials and manipulating single cell organisms. The technology works by precisely controlling a number of different parameters that affect fluid dynamics and the shear forces experienced by these fluids.

The technology has been designed from the outset with continuous flow processing capabilities but lends itself to confined-mode processing for small volumes of liquids. This is an exciting time, ripe with possibility, and we invite you to join us as we seek to redefine organic chemistry and the way matter can be organized using this innovative technology.

ABOUT THE VORTEX FLUIDIC DEVICE

Introducing the Vortex Fluidic Device

The Science of 2D Fluidics

The Vortex Fluidic Device functions under continuous flow processing conditions by delivering reagents to the bottom of a rapidly rotating tube that is tilted relative to the horizontal position. This mechanoenergy can be harnessed for different applications, for example in accelerating organic reactions at room temperature, often without the need for heating, and unlike conventional batch processing.
